The Lake Erie Tundra Continues...

Well here we are the last day of February and Old Man Winter has clearly settled in for a "Long Winter's Nap". The howling winds from the past few days sure made for some major snow removal efforts. Sam and Andrea have been busy keeping the walks clear.
This poor little Red Maple on the east side of the Beach House is almost buried in the snow as a result of the blowing snow and the actual snowfall from the past few days.
Our guests this morning are cozy inside enjoying Dave's breakfast and Shirley's hospitality. I have not seen anyone venture out yet.
It will be interesting what tomorrow will bring, the first day of March. Will the month come in like a roaring lion or a calm little lamb? I am afraid to watch the weather. I think we are all ready for Spring, however we know the March weather can be brutal with much snowfall.

I have to say the snow on the trees is gorgeous. From our back door, it has some resemblance of a ski village. Maybe I should take up cross-country skiing.

On a very frigid note, yesterday was the 14th Annual Law Enforcement Polar Bear Plunge, held at Geneva State Park. Here is a link to the Star Beacon Coverage.
