The paved trail is a wonderful addition to the park. It is also great to see so many people enjoying nature at its finest while increasing their physical activity.
During the time the bridge over Cowles Creek was being renovated, the birds found their way to our beach for a few days. We were fortunate to see the heron a few times. Here is some footage from one of those mornings (a little dreary and overcast).
Obviously, the heron got annoyed with the noise from the geese.
The day was picture-perfect. Lots of traffic on the water (both small and big vessels).

Although this was a gorgeous sunrise, there is definitely much red and storms are on the way (the thunder is rumbling as I type).

I was so surprised by what I saw early this morning walking through Geneva State Park, I just had to share the wildlife beauty we sometimes take for granted.

No such luck! They have proliferated beyond belief. The good thing is we have found that running fans and spraying OFF keeps them away from the patios. We have been very fortunate that our guests have been able to eat outside at the Grille and they have not been bothered too much on the Winery patio.
Of course our first wedding was yesterday. Overall the tactics we took were very effective. The only modification we had to make was to serve the food inside; however the guests were able to eat outside without issue.

If you really want to know more about the pesky bugs here is what the Plain Dealer wrote about last week. Is a Midge the same as a Mufflehead? We always thought they were, however if so, read this contradiction. When I showed Sam the articles, his response "Well that means no one really knows what causes the infestation?"
